How long until I can sit for the certification exam?
Plan on three to six weeks of focused study for Venous Access or Capillary, and two to four weeks of structured mock-auditor reps for DOT Collector. The plan rebuilds against your stated exam date — give us a date and we work backward from it. If life gets in the way, move the date and the plan moves with you.
Will employers and auditors actually accept this certification?
DOT/SAMHSA training requires a Qualifying Training Record signed by a qualified trainer and a mock audit. Specimark generates the QTR from your mock encounters and pairs it with the AI mock auditor scoring against the actual SAMHSA checklist — the same checklist a real auditor would walk. For Venous Access and Capillary, the certification is an internal readiness signal, not a state license; check your state’s specific phlebotomy license requirements separately.
What happens when my certification expires?
Per-modality recert clocks are tracked inside Specimark. When a window opens, the AI Coach rebuilds a short recert plan against the SAMHSA checklist delta since your last cert — no full re-take, no separate product. DOT recert cycles are required annually for BAT and at SAMHSA intervals for urine and oral-fluid; the dashboard surfaces the next deadline before it bites.
What if I change my mind after I pay?
Self-Study and AI Coach are refundable within 14 days of purchase as long as you have not yet generated a Qualifying Training Record — once a QTR is issued, the seat is consumed and the recert clock has started.
